WELCOME

Wow. 2020. What an unprecedented year. No one could have predicted the events that would unfold throughout the year. With so much tragedy, division, uncertainty, and fear, the church was needed like never before.

Even through social distance, isolation, and uncertainty, Cultivate continued to push forward living life on purpose and being the hands and feet of Jesus to others. Many lives were impacted because of the continued generosity and determination of this house.

As you read over our past year, be encouraged that in the midst of a difficult season God has been faithful. We celebrate each victory and every life touched through Cultivate Church.

Life On Purpose

Brandon Doss & Brandon Matthews, Lead Team Pastors

ABOUT US

OUR VISION

It is our vision to be a place where:
The unknowing become fully devoted followers of Christ.
People are equipped for purpose.
Life giving churches are planted.
Churches connect for resource and relationship.

“Our vision has always been to provide a place where life change was the norm. We are focused on making Heaven a bigger place.”

Brandon DossLead Team Pastor

OUR MISSION

It is our mission to cultivate:
A passion for God.
A passion for people.
A passion for purpose.

“We believe when you fall in love with God you fall in love with His people. When
those two things come together you become hungry for your purpose in order
to make a difference in the lives of others. This is the process of a life on
purpose.”

94

Decisions For Christ

The pandemic made it difficult to engage with those who made decisions for Jesus as much of our year was spent online. However, we were still able to confirm 94 people who said yes to Jesus through their response through a connect card. This is why we do what we do.

17

Joined the cTeam

The cTeam are the heroes of Cultivate Church. They work hard to provide an atmosphere for life change. Serving on the cTeam is easy and fun. All teams
schedule a campus, times, and team from an app. Many people even serve at both campuses. If you would like to serve, click HERE.

8

Went Public in Baptism

2020 made baptism very difficult in the pandemic, but 8 people decided to be baptized in a freezing cold creek in October. If you would like to be baptized, click HERE.

69

Completed Roots

Roots is your way to discover all about Cultivate, your spiritual gifts, personality profile, and a place to serve. Roots can now be completed online anytime. Click HERE to get started.

60

Small Groups Offered

Small groups are how we grow closer to God and others. Small groups happen 30 weeks per year and are broken into three semesters. Groups can be based on any interest. There are hundreds who meet in small groups at Cultivate. We believe this is where real life change happens.

#CheckInAndDoGood

“It only takes a check-in to be generous.”

Did you know that by simply checking-in to Cultivate on Facebook each week you are being generous? With every check-in Cultivate gives financially to support a
cause. In 2020 you provided clothes, drinking water, child care, education, and more!

Come Together - A Night of Unity

In the middle of division and discord we came together with local churches to host a night of prayer for peace. In the middle of social distancing hundreds came together to pray, worship, and unite. The event was covered by every local news outlet and over 100,000 people watched live through the NBC 13 live stream.

Back to School Serve

We partnered with other local churches to serve hundreds of families across Shelby Country providing all of the back to school supplies needed for kids to return to school. This event was another way we worked to unify our churches and community in a time of division.

ASSOCIATION OF RELATED CHURCHES

By partnering with the Association of Related Churches (ARC) not only are we able to build Cultivate Church, but we are able to help build churches all over the world. Our desire is for the local church to thrive, whoever and wherever that may be.

35 Churches planted in person in 2020
22 Churches planted online in 2020
522 Launch day decisions for Christ
Nearly 12,000 people attended a launch day

THANKSGIVING DINNER

For Thanksgiving Cultivate provided free Thanksgiving dinner for anyone in Shelby County at Fat Johnny's in Columbiana, AL. The menu included turkey, dressing, and all of the trimmings. The cTeam served and waited tables.

Pictures with
Santa

Due to the pandemic pictures with Santa were cancelled in most places. If they were open, no contact with Santa was allowed. Cultivate provided a safe alternative hosting pictures with Santa at both campus locations.

Hunger House

Through our partnership with Hunger House Ministries we were able to serve over 80,000 warm meals, we celebrated 58 children’s birthdays, hand delivered over 200 Christmas gifts, created 3 full-time jobs to Juarez locals, financially aided in the construction of three churches in Juarez, financially covered a successful eye surgery for one of our volunteers that was legally blind, provided an oven and new bunk beds for our orphanage, gave out 91 backpacks with school supplies included, fully covered tuition and uniforms for over 70 children, and took the gospel into the homes of hundreds of families across the city of Juarez.

VARIOUS SERVES

In addition to some of the highlights above, Cultivate serves through many community events. There are parades, community days, festivals, and more. Thousands of hotdogs, cups of hot chocolate, bottles of water, and bags of pop corn were given away.

Our mission team served hundreds of kids in Juarez, Mexico for Christmas. Kids returned to school with school supplies provided. Men are picked up on the church van for church weekly. There isn't enough room to list all of the amazing things accomplished through #lifeonpurpose.

BUILDING A BIGGER TABLE

Building a Bigger Table is a three year capital campaign with a goal to raise $700,000 to provide new facilities for Alabaster and Columbiana. Phase 1 is the buildout of nearly 14,000 sq ft in the old Food Land building for our Alabaster Campus and is to be complete early 2021. Phase 2 is purchasing land and building a new Columbiana facility. We concluded 2021 with $49,633.77 toward the project.
