Welcome to a brand new year! It has all of the potential for all of the good things, better health, stronger relationships, better financial decisions. However, this year also has a high probability of more failure. Failed relationships, finances, diets, economies, governments. I, like many of you, typically make tweaks in my life at the first of every year. As we all think through all of these changes, I want to remind us of some truth from God’s Word…
“Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.” Proverbs 3:7-8 NLT
“Fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.” The problem we all run into in our culture is, we’ve all got our own preconceived ideas about what “evil” is. We can all read that passage and without a unified measuring stick, all come up with a different definition of evil. It’s the primary flaw in politics, and the wisdom of Man. This year, let’s commit that we will not be impressed with the wisdom of Man. I’m challenged to submit my own preconceived ideas to the truth of God’s Word.
Father order our steps according to Your Word, and Let no sin rule over our lives in 2021.(Psalm 119:133)
