Day 19

By January 28, 2021February 17th, 2021Uncategorized

We only have a few days left… How has God grown you so far? From the time we are first in our mother’s womb, we are built for, and meant for growth. We are unborn to become newborns, newborns to become toddlers, toddlers to become children,, children to become teenagers, teenagers to become adults, and it doesn’t even stop there!

God has a lot to say to us about growth. Even Jesus Himself experienced growth as the Bible tells us in Luke 2:52 – And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

Recently, I spoke with a friend about how the craziness that was 2020 actually caused me to have to grow a lot in both mind and spirit (and body, but we will ignore those extra pounds because I’m working on that). That has grown me a lot as a leader and as a follower of Christ.

In 2 Peter 3:18 we read – But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I want to challenge all of us to use these last few days of prayer and fasting to grow us in those ways. Just as each stage of life represents a different time of growth, this stage of prayer and fasting should be all about trusting God for growth to come from this. Trust Him for growth in grace and knowledge of Him, and the growth of your favor with Him for your time spent with Him over the last 2 weeks. Trust Him to grow the impact of yourself and your church in our community. But mostly, trust Him to grow your relationship with Him…and don’t forget to praise Him for that growth, even if it comes from something as bad as the last 12 months.
