Praying As A Church

By January 25, 2019February 17th, 2021Uncategorized

By now we are over a week into our fast & most of us feel like it’s been much longer. Fasting is not always easy, but I do look forward to this time of year. God is doing great things in our church and changing lives every week. I am excited to see the new faces each week & hopeful that they will come to know the God & Savior that we as a church love & serve. I am also encouraged every week as I see the same faces returning to worship & be a part of our church family. So as we fast & replace that time with prayer, bible study & drawing closer to God, please pray for one another as well as our church as a whole.

1 John 5:14 says:
14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

Matthew 18:19-20 says:
19 Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.

If Christ is among us & hears our prayers when two or three are in agreement, how much greater is it when an entire church is praying & fasting at the same time? Of course not all of us are praying the exact same prayers, but what if we were praying for a few of the same things? If we are seeking God & praying for his will, then he will do great things among us & our church. After all, until Jesus comes back we are the light of the world, because Christ is in us. (Matthew 5:14/ Ephesians 5:8-9).
